Piazza Erbe

Piazza Erbe is the oldest square in Verona, located at the end of Via Mazzini and near the Roman Forum. It is the most characteristic square of Verona.

In the Roman period, Piazza Erbe was the economic and political center of Verona, there arise many ancient monuments and historic buildings such as Palazzo Maffei, the Lamberti Tower and the House of Marcanti, to name a few.

Piazza Erbe is also characterized by significant central fountain and some columns made of marble.

Looking at it, from a tourist point of view, however, Piazza Erbe, particularly in the central area called "toloneo", every day is a typical market where you can find everything from postcards to the fruit, not to forget about the souvenirs.
